Bu konu başlığı altında İngilizcede kullanılan temel yani dört işlem matematiksel hesaplama terimleri ve bunların kullanımları anlatılacaktır. Aynı zamanda sayılar da kullanılarak burada tekrar edilmiş olacaktır.
Dört işlem terimlerinin İngilizceleri aşağıdaki gibidir.
Artı = Plus
Eksi = Minus
Çarpı = Times
Bölü = Divide
Eşittir = Equals to veya is equal to
Bu terimlerden sadece bölü ifadesinin kullanımında bir farklılık vardır. Matematiksel hesaplamalara ait örnekleri aşağıda inceleyelim.
Örnek:
2 + 5 = 7 two plus five equals to seven
6 + 13 = 19 six plus thirteen equals to nineteen
18 + 23 = 41 eighteen plus twenty three is equal to fourty one
76 – 34 = 42 seventy six minus thirty four is equal to fourty two
56 – 11 = 45 fifty six minus eleven equals to fourty five
31 – 17 = 14 thirty one minus seventeen is equal to fourteen
4 x 3 = 12 four times three equals to twelve
16 x 2 = 32 sixteen times two is equal to thirty two
65 x 3 = 195 sixty five times three equals to one hundred and ninety five
Bölü ifadesindeki kullanım ‘divided by’ şeklindedir.
